What is RightPlace?

A website for independent restaurants and bars and the people looking for them. Your team gets a waitlist and host stand, a kitchen screen, server phone orders, a TV page for the door, deals you post from the stand, and a report of the night. Guests find you by the kind of night they want, see the wait you posted, and tell you they are on the way.

Do I need to buy hardware?

No. RightPlace runs in the web browser on the phones, tablets, laptops and smart TVs you already have. There is no box to buy and nothing to download from an app store.

Do guests need to download an app?

No. Walk-ins and phone calls go on the list with no account at all. Guests who find you on RightPlace use it in their browser, and signing in is optional.

Does RightPlace take payment?

No, never. Guests pay at the table like always, on your own register. RightPlace doesn't store anything about payment.

Does it work with my register (POS)?

Yes, alongside any register. RightPlace sends kitchen tickets; someone rings the order in on your register, and RightPlace tracks which tickets are rung in, with the check number, so nothing is missed. You can import your menu from a Toast, Square or Clover export so the names match your register's buttons. Sending orders straight onto the register is planned for Clover, Toast and Lightspeed, once their partner programs approve it.

How do guests get a text when their table is ready?

Tap "Text: table ready" at the host stand. It opens your phone's own texting app with the message filled in, so you don't pay per text. On a tablet without texting, call the number instead; it's right there.

What does it cost?

Listing your place on RightPlace is free. Host Plus is our paid plan. We set it up with each room in person, so ask us.

How do staff sign in?

The host stand, kitchen and servers use your room's 6-digit code. Managers also need a 4-digit PIN. If a tablet goes missing, change the code and every screen signed in with the old one stops working.

Where does RightPlace work?

We start with independent restaurants and bars in Summit County, Ohio (Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Stow, Barberton, Tallmadge, Fairlawn, Green) and next door in Kent.

Does it say the wait is live?

No. Your host posts the wait with one tap, and guests see when it was last updated. We don't guess the wait for you.

What do the reports count?

Only what happened in RightPlace: taps, arrivals, seatings, tickets and times. Dollar figures show only if you enter your own average check, and they are labeled as estimates.

Can I try it first?

Yes. The demo site has a made-up restaurant with a busy night going. Every staff screen opens with no code: host stand, kitchen, server phone and manager.
