Boost a post on Instagram

Boost a post on Instagram, one step at a time.

A boost pays Instagram to show your post to people nearby who don't follow you yet. Every picture below is drawn to look like Instagram's screen, with the one thing to tap lit up.

The guide

  1. Open the post you want to boost and tap Boost post (on a Reel, Boost reel).: You can only boost something already posted. If the button is grey, Instagram says why when you tap it.
  2. For the goal, pick the one that sends people to your website, and paste your RightPlace link.: People who tap land on your RightPlace page with tonight's wait and deals, and Numbers counts them.
  3. For the audience, make your own: set the area to a few miles around your spot.: People who live or work nearby are the ones who can come in tonight.
  4. If the post shows beer, wine or cocktails, set the youngest age to 21.: Meta has its own rules for drink ads. When in doubt, 21 and up keeps you on the safe side.
  5. Set the budget and how many days it runs.: Start small. Run it in the days before your busy nights, then look at Numbers before you boost again.
  6. Check the payment card, then tap Boost post.: Meta reviews the boost before it runs, usually within a day. You pay Meta, not RightPlace.

After it runs

Once the boost runs, RightPlace Numbers shows how many people your Instagram boost sent to your page.

Instagram and Facebook change these screens often, so your buttons may look a little different. Look for the same words.

Can I boost a post that shows drinks?

Meta has its own rules for alcohol ads. Set the youngest age to 21 and follow what Meta asks for when it reviews the boost.
