RightPlace with Toast

Toast tips: get more out of the Toast you already have.

Toast is built to run your orders and payments. RightPlace runs beside it, often on the same Toast screen, to handle the door, the line and the guests deciding where to go tonight. Here is how they fit, and a few tips for busy nights.

Keep Toast doing what it does best

Toast rings up the sale, runs the card and keeps your menu, checks and payments. RightPlace leaves all of that alone. It covers the parts of the night that happen before and around the check: the door, the line, the kitchen pass, the guests who are deciding where to go tonight, and the regulars you want back next week.

Nothing to install on Toast, nothing to switch off, and nothing to retrain on the register. No hardware required.

Tip: keep a spare device or two charged in case a server’s phone dies. Staff can use their own devices if they like.

What RightPlace adds beside Toast

Already have a waitlist or reservations?

Toast sells its own waitlist and reservations tool, Toast Tables, and if you use it, keep it. RightPlace’s biggest help for Toast spots is the other side of the door: guests looking for a spot tonight see the wait you posted and your deals, tap On the way, and come back for the perks you set. You can also run your waitlist on RightPlace instead; pick whichever your host likes.

Set it up in a few minutes

  1. Pick a screen: Use a screen you already have where it can open a web browser, or any tablet, laptop or phone beside the register.
  2. Open getrightplace.app: Sign in with your spot’s 6-digit code. There is nothing to download from an app store.
  3. Bring your menu over: Export your items from Toast as a CSV file and pick it in RightPlace. You see everything before it saves, and the names match your Toast buttons.
  4. Run a night: The host stand, kitchen, servers and Door TV each open on their own screen. Payments keep going through Toast.

Toast is a trademark of its owner. RightPlace is a separate company, not affiliated with or endorsed by Toast, and RightPlace does not connect to Toast: it runs beside it in a web browser.

Questions owners ask

Can RightPlace run on my Toast screen?

Often, yes. Toast’s own help pages show how to open a web browser on Toast Flex register and kitchen screens. Toast Go 3 handhelds can’t open a browser, so servers use a phone or another device.

Can I import my Toast menu?

Yes. Export your items from Toast as a CSV file and pick it in RightPlace. You see everything before it saves, and items keep their Toast names.

Does RightPlace replace Toast?

No. Toast keeps every sale, card payment and check. RightPlace never takes payment and runs beside your register in a web browser.
