RightPlace with SpotOn
SpotOn POS: keep SpotOn on payments, put the door on its own screen.
SpotOn is built to run your orders and payments. RightPlace runs beside it in a web browser to handle the waitlist, the kitchen pass and the guests deciding where to go tonight.

Keep SpotOn doing what it does best
SpotOn rings up the sale, runs the card and keeps your menu, checks and payments. RightPlace leaves all of that alone. It covers the parts of the night that happen before and around the check: the door, the line, the kitchen pass, the guests who are deciding where to go tonight, and the regulars you want back next week.
Nothing to install on SpotOn, nothing to switch off, and nothing to retrain on the register. No hardware required.
Where RightPlace runs on a SpotOn setup
- SpotOn’s stations and handhelds are built to run SpotOn, so plan on a separate screen for RightPlace: any tablet, laptop or other device with a web browser.
- Set it at the host stand or the kitchen pass, sign in with your code, and you’re running.
- If your SpotOn device opens a web browser, RightPlace runs there too; SpotOn can tell you.
- SpotOn developer center: SpotOn’s own page for apps that work alongside SpotOn.
Tip: keep a spare device or two charged in case a server’s phone dies. Staff can use their own devices if they like.
Get more out of SpotOn (advice any spot can use)
- Use your SpotOn sales reports to find your slowest night and hour, then put one deal on exactly that window.
- Keep the waitlist off the register on busy nights, so checkout never waits behind the door.
- Keep a spare device or two charged. If a handheld or phone dies mid-service, the door keeps moving.
- Tell the floor about an 86 at once. Tap “86 an item” in RightPlace’s kitchen screen and server phones, the host stand and the Door TV all show it sold out.
- Tap Rung in with the SpotOn check number when a RightPlace ticket goes on the register, so nothing gets made without being rung.
What RightPlace adds beside SpotOn
- A posted wait guests can see: The host posts the wait with one tap. Guests looking for a spot tonight see it with the time it was updated, and can tap On the way.
- Deals that fill slow nights: Post a deal from the host stand with a start, an end and a photo. Guests see a countdown, so a Tuesday special works on Tuesday.
- A kitchen screen for RightPlace orders: Food ordered ahead and server phone orders show on a kitchen screen. A "Rung in" list shows which tickets still need to go on SpotOn, with the check number once they do.
- A TV by the door: Any smart TV shows the wait, tonight’s specials, games and photos from tonight.
- Table requests by scan code: A guest scans the code on the table to ask for a refill, the check or a to-go box. It goes to that table’s server.
- A Night Report in plain numbers: Parties seated through RightPlace, deals used and times, counted from your staff’s taps. Your sales numbers stay in SpotOn.
Already have a waitlist or reservations?
If you already use SpotOn’s own reservations and waitlist tools, keep them. RightPlace’s biggest help is bringing people in: guests looking for a spot tonight see the wait you posted and your deals, tap On the way, and come back for the perks you set. You can also run the waitlist on RightPlace; pick whichever your host likes.
Set it up in a few minutes
- Pick a screen: Use a screen you already have where it can open a web browser, or any tablet, laptop or phone beside the register.
- Open getrightplace.app: Sign in with your spot’s 6-digit code. There is nothing to download from an app store.
- Bring your menu over: Export your items as a CSV file, or paste your menu or your website’s menu page. You see everything before it saves.
- Run a night: The host stand, kitchen, servers and Door TV each open on their own screen. Payments keep going through SpotOn.
SpotOn is a trademark of its owner. RightPlace is a separate company, not affiliated with or endorsed by SpotOn, and RightPlace does not connect to SpotOn: it runs beside it in a web browser.

Questions owners ask
Can RightPlace run on my SpotOn device?
Plan on a separate screen. SpotOn devices are built to run SpotOn, so RightPlace runs on any tablet, laptop or phone beside it. If your SpotOn device opens a web browser, RightPlace runs there too.
Can I import my SpotOn menu?
Export your items as a CSV file, or paste your menu or your website’s menu page. You see everything before it saves.
Does RightPlace replace SpotOn?
No. SpotOn keeps every sale, card payment and check. RightPlace never takes payment and runs beside your register in a web browser.
